COS Community Education Course - Family-Sized Meal Prep Workshop

This is a Meal prep workshop for busy people who have a family to feed and very little time to cook! Lauren Evangelo of Precision Prep ( will be lead this Make and Take Family Meal workshop. You will learn the basics of meal prepping and useful cooking and knife skills. We will take you through step-by step, how to prep 4 nutritious family sized meals to take home and eat that week or freeze for later.

Topics covered:

  • Sanitation and safety

  • Various meal prep methods and finding what works for you

  • Resources for healthy and efficient grocery shopping, multiplying recipes, recipe conversions, portion control, time management and planning for meal prepping, and healthy ingredient substitutes.

  • Proper knife handling, and tutorials on how to efficiently chop various vegetables

  • Hands-on meal prepping in teams

This is a not-for-credit course. As such, you will not earn units and the class will not be reflected on your banner schedule or on transcripts. As a not-for-credit course, Financial Aid cannot be used to pay for or offset the costs of this course.
